I don’t believe in the Great Pizza Debate.  Pizza is VERY subjective and I’m not about to tell anyone what the crust thickness should be, if pan is better than tossed, or what toppings do/not belong on a pie.

What I will tell you is that The Drunken Grandma pie from Ruvolo’s in Highlands, NJ is one of the best pies you’ll ever have.  It’s a square pie, but not Sicilian.  It’s got a thinner crust…more like a traditional NY style pizza.  It’s covered with a velvety vodka sauce and slices of fresh, low moisture mozzarella.

I always vow not to be a cafone but the pizza gets the best of me and I end up devouring three to four slices with ease.  If you’re looking for delicious pizza that’s a bit different, you won’t be disappointed having The Drunken Grandma over for dinner.

Unfortunately there is no place to sit in the new location.  It’s take out or delivery only.  If you don’t live in the area, it’s worth the trip and eating in the car or in a local park if the weather is nice.
