It is indeed THE perfect day to launch a blog about food (and beverages). It is Thanksgiving: the biggest food holiday in the nation. I’ll keep this short so that you can get on with your celebration.
Welcome to The Tooma Foodie. Let’s clear the air so you know what you’re reading. Tooma is the acronym for “talking out of my ass.” The title immediately let’s you know that I’m not an expert. So keep that in mind as you read and take this with a grain of salt. I’m passionate about food & beverages but don’t really know enough to consider myself a full fledged foodie.
Who am I? I don’t think that really matters. I’m just a girl that has never worked in the food industry, unless you want to count the six months I was a cashier at the local supermarket. I grew up on basic home cooking , TV dinners, fast food and pizza. Over the years I’ve developed a distaste for chains (with a few exceptions) and an affinity for the independents.
I’m The Tooma Foodie and it’s been 16 months since I ate fast food.
